School Header

Education is a real need in Senegal, and most parents are looking for a quality, affordable education for their children. The Senegalese National Assemblies of God church has birthed a vision to open a Christian primary school in every major town in Senegal. These schools will be staffed with Christian Senegalese teachers. Furthermore, the Senegal government has given the Senegalese National Church permission to use the Bible as the text for the mandatory weekly "morality" lesson.

Construction Update - Next Building Phase

July 2010

The new phase of construction is well underway. The new addition to the second floor will provide another classroom. This section of the school is being built on columns that will also provide a shelter for school activities in the back courtyard.

March 2010

The next phase of building will begin in March of 2010. An extension will be made to the second floor of the school which will add 2 more classrooms. Thank you to BGMC and Africa's Children. These organizations have made it possible to not only finish another classroom, but to start this next building phase.

October 23 , 2009

The new school year began in the beginning of October. We currently have close to 40 students between the preschool levels (ages 3 to 5) and the new CI class (ages 6 and 7). The new classroom can hold about 40 children, but at the moment the class has about 25 students. Thank you to everyone that helped us open this new room for the 2009/2010 school year.

New class

CI Class of about 25 children, ages 6 and 7.

School Completion

In order to finish the entire school building for all 6 grade levels we need to:

  • build an extension to the second floor for one classroom
(This would allow us to continue growing for two more years.)

Estimated cost: $15,000

  • complete the third floor with three more classrooms
(This would allow us to operate at full capacity.)

Estimated cost: $20,000

If you would like to donate toward the completion of the
school please mark project number 4573 on your donation for
C. Bryan Davis account #256395.

School opens in Saint-Louis

The Leer Gi school opened on October 21, 2008. The preschool class started with 6 children and has grown to 10 in the last semester. We currently have one full time teacher and a director.

The school started with just the first three grades, which are 3 levels of preschool, and will continue to grow every year. After six years of operation, and all nine primary grades are functioning, the school could have as many as 270 students!

Mural

Thank you to Shannon Varis, Michael Albanese and Brianna Halverson from Oregon, for the countless hours of work they spent painting Noah’s Ark in the new school room at the Leer Gi School.  It brightens the room and the school day!

Hand Bell Choir

Hand Bells

We are excited to offer hand bell lessons to the children at the Leer Gi School. A University team from Trinity Bible College will be bringing the bells in May. If you would like to help purchase bells for the school, contact us.

Construction Began...

In March of 2008 we began construction on the new Christian School in Saint-Louis. We purchased two 15x20 meter plots of land in the Sor Deign area of the Pekin III neighborhood. There are very few schooling options in this neighborhood and many people are paying more than they can afford to send their children across town to attend school.
